Isaiah 2:3  ³ Many peoples shall come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.” For out of Zion shall go forth instruction, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

All of us need mountaintop experiences. We need to take time away from the hustle bustle of everyday life; we need to take time away from the everyday worries and concerns and come into God’s presence. It is there that we feel God’s love. It is there we can think about God’s will for our lives. It is there that we can open our ears, our hearts, our minds and our souls to learn God’s ways and walk in God’s paths.

After we have been refreshed on the mountain of the Lord, we can come down and share God’s love and peace with those whose lives are filled with worries and concerns. We can lead those who feel lost in the hustle and bustle onto God’s path so they can walk in God’s ways.

Let us go up to the mountain of the Lord and be refreshed, restored, and renewed.

Lord, we need to be in your presence. Make the way clear for us to spend time with you. Amen.
